Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026: What’s Included and How to Plan the Night

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a separately ticketed evening event at Magic Kingdom, running 38 select nights from August 7 through October 31, 2026. Your regular park ticket does not get you in. A party ticket does not require one either, which is a distinction that changes the math on whether the night is worth booking.

The event officially runs from 7:00 PM to midnight. Party ticket holders can enter Magic Kingdom starting at 4:00 PM, which means the ticket buys up to eight hours in the park rather than five. That three hour head start is the single most important planning fact on this page, and most of the strategy below is built around it.

Tickets range from $119 to $229 per adult plus tax depending on the date, with children ages 3 to 9 priced $10 lower. Dates sell out, and several already have.

Costumes are permitted for all ages, which is otherwise not allowed for guests 14 and over at Walt Disney World.

Snacks, merchandise, popcorn buckets, table service dining, and the fireworks dessert party are all additional cost.

2026 Dates, Hours, and Ticket Prices

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party dates fall on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays in August and September, with one Thursday date on September 24. October adds every Thursday, most Fridays, Sundays, and most Tuesdays, and closes with Saturday, October 31.

There is no Sunday party on September 6 or October 11, and no Tuesday party on October 20.

Hours are 7:00 PM to midnight on every date. Park entry for ticket holders opens at 4:00 PM on every date. There is no variation in this by month.

How pricing works

Prices climb steadily as Halloween approaches, from $119 on the cheapest August dates to $229 on Halloween night. Opening night is the one break in the pattern, priced above the August dates that follow it because opening night carries its own demand.

Children ages 3 to 9 are $10 less on every date. Children under 3 are free. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members save $10 per ticket, but only on event nights from August 7 through October 2. That discount does not apply to any October date after the 2nd, which is when prices are highest.

Buy early or lose the cheap dates

The lowest priced nights sell out first, and they sell out months ahead. The two $119 dates were gone before the end of June. Opening night sold out earlier than it ever has.

If you are choosing between a cheap August date and a premium October date, the practical difference is crowd level and weather, not content. The entertainment lineup is identical across the season. August is hotter and more humid, and afternoon storms are a live risk. October is cooler, more expensive, and busier.

At the time of writing this post, there are already several party dates that are completely sold out. Make sure you check availability as soon as you decide you’re planning to attend the party.

The 4:00 PM Entry Window Is Where the Value Is

A ticket to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party gets you into Magic Kingdom at 4:00 PM without a park ticket for that day. Day guests are still in the park until close. So from 4:00 to 7:00 you are sharing the park with full daytime crowds, and Lightning Lane is still operating for the people who bought it.

That sounds like a reason to skip the early window. It is the opposite.

Three things make those hours valuable. First, you can eat dinner before the party starts, which removes the biggest time sink from your five party hours. Second, the queues for the rarest characters form during this window, and joining early is the only reliable way to meet them without burning ninety minutes later. Third, you can ride attractions that do not change for the party and get them off your list.

Arriving at 6:45 PM is the most common planning mistake with this event. You paid for eight hours and used five of them.

Practical note on wristbands: cast members distribute party wristbands at stations around the park in the late afternoon, including near Tortuga Tavern in Adventureland and Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor in Tomorrowland. Get yours before 7:00 PM so you are not standing in a wristband line while the party starts.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Entertainment Schedule

These are the confirmed 2026 showtimes. Verify them in the My Disney Experience app on the day of your party, because Disney adjusts the schedule as the season progresses.

Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade: 8:15 PM and 11:15 PM Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks: 10:00 PM Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular: 9:05 PM, 10:35 PM, and 12:00 AM Cadaver Dans in Frontierland: 7:00, 7:50, 8:45, 9:30, 10:50, and 11:45 PM

Late in the season, an additional earlier Hocus Pocus show is typically added around 7:35 PM. If your date falls in late September or October, check for a fourth showtime.

Boo-To-You and the Headless Horseman

The parade runs twice. The 8:15 showing draws a much larger crowd because most guests have not yet realized there is a second one. The 11:15 showing is the easier of the two to watch without camping out.

The Headless Horseman rides down Main Street several minutes ahead of the parade itself. He is not part of the parade and he does not stop. If you want to see him, be in position before the parade start time, not at it. He is also weather dependent and gets cancelled in wind or rain.

Not-So-Spooky Spectacular

The fireworks are presented once, at 10:00 PM, and only on party nights. This is the hardest scheduling conflict of the evening because it sits between the two parade showings and immediately before a Hocus Pocus show.

A workable sequence: skip the 8:15 parade and ride during it, watch the fireworks at 10:00, catch Hocus Pocus at 10:35, then watch the 11:15 parade. That gets you all three headline shows with the least standing around.

Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular

The Sanderson Sisters host, and the show pulls in other Disney villains including Maleficent, Ursula, the Queen of Hearts, and Oogie Boogie. It plays at the castle stage, which means the viewing area overlaps with fireworks viewing.

The midnight showing runs after the party officially ends. It is the least attended of the three.

New for 2026

Stitch’s Masquerade Mashup is at the Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland, featuring Stitch, Lilo, and Angel. Stitch pulls accessories from Lilo’s costume trunk and the party theme shifts each time he changes.

Jack’s Buccaneer Bash takes over Adventureland with three pirate shows running in near-continuous rotation. Captain Barbossa fronts a live band, the Dashing Corsairs perform a stunt show, and Captain Jack Sparrow runs pirate training with dedicated moments for kids.

Both of these run on rotation rather than by ticket or queue, which makes them low-risk additions to a plan. You can catch them in passing.

Disney Jr. Jam continues at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe with Vampirina, Fancy Nancy, Doc McStuffins, and Timon.

Trick-or-Treating and Allergy-Friendly Options

Candy stations at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party are spread across all six lands, 13 in total per the My Disney Experience app listing. You receive a free treat bag on Main Street when you enter, along with a full-size Twix from cast members at the bag pickup.

Confirmed 2026 stations include Market Street on Main Street U.S.A. (open until 8:00 PM only), Tortuga Tavern, the Enchanted Tiki Room, and Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland, Big Thunder Mountain in Frontierland, the Diamond Horseshoe in Liberty Square, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor and the Tomorrowland Treat Trail in Tomorrowland, and five stations across Fantasyland and Storybook Circus including Dumbo, Mickey’s PhilharMagic, Princess Fairytale Hall, and Enchanted Tales with Belle.

Cast members hand out larger quantities later in the night as they work through inventory. There is no reason to prioritize candy stations early.

Allergy-friendly: ask any cast member at a treat station for an allergy-friendly bag. You collect teal tokens along your route and redeem them at the Chamber of Commerce on Main Street U.S.A. Plan to redeem before you leave, because the redemption location is at the front of the park.

Rides at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Attendance at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is capped, so posted waits drop across the board. That does not mean every ride is worth your party time, and the difference matters when you have five hours.

Three attractions get Halloween overlays for the party: Space Mountain runs with the ride lights off and an alternate soundtrack, Mad Tea Party gets special lighting and music, and Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor swaps in Halloween material. Everything else runs in its standard configuration.

Lightning Lane is not offered during party hours. Every queue is standby. If you were in the park earlier in the day on a regular ticket, Lightning Lane stops working around 6:00 PM. This is worth factoring into your broader trip plan, and it is one of the cases where our analysis of when skipping Lightning Lane makes sense applies directly.

Applying the Component Method

The Component Method sorts attractions by how they load, which is what determines how much a capped-attendance event actually helps.

E-Ticket attractions benefit most. These are the rides where demand normally overwhelms capacity, so cutting attendance produces the largest absolute drop in wait. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, TRON Lightcycle / Run, Big Thunder Mountain, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and Space Mountain all fall here. Ride these during the 8:15 parade or during the fireworks, when a large share of guests is standing on Main Street.

High Capacity attractions stay short all night because they consume crowds faster than the party can supply them. Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, and “it’s a small world” are always available. Use them as filler between scheduled shows rather than as targets.

Low Demand attractions are walk-ons on a normal park day. Riding them during the party spends premium time on something you could do any afternoon. Astro Orbiter, the Magic Carpets of Aladdin, and Tomorrowland Speedway belong in this bucket.

The Haunted Mansion is a specific exception worth naming. Cast members work the queue in character on party nights and the grounds get additional fog and lighting treatment. It is the one High Capacity attraction where the party version is a different experience from the standard version and I would highly recommend experiencing it during the party.

Characters and Where to Find Them

The character lineup is the primary reason many people buy a ticket to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and it is also where the longest waits of the night are.

Jack Skellington and Sally meet at Town Square Theater on Main Street U.S.A. Their line is historically the worst at the event. If they are on your list, get in line at 4:00 PM or accept that you will spend a large piece of your evening there.

Mickey and Minnie also meet at Town Square Theater in Halloween costume. Winnie the Pooh and friends appear in the Thotful Spot in Fantasyland with Pooh as a bumblebee, Piglet as a butterfly, Eeyore as a clown, and Tigger as a pirate. All of which will have long lines.

Other confirmed 2026 meets include Mirabel and Bruno in Fairytale Garden, Lady Tremaine with Anastasia and Drizella, Ariel and Prince Eric near Under the Sea, Alice and the Mad Hatter with the Queen of Hearts near Mad Tea Party, Gaston near Gaston’s Tavern, the Aladdin group near the Magic Carpets, Pluto and the Donald and Daisy pairing in Storybook Circus, the Country Bears roaming Frontierland, and Chip ‘n’ Dale near the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure exit.

Roaming villains do not queue. Cruella de Vil, Maleficent, the Evil Queen, and Mother Gothel appear in and around the castle hub and Main Street without a formal line. The Hitchhiking Ghosts materialize on the Frontierland balcony near Country Bear Jamboree.

The practical rule: rare stationary meets require a plan, roaming characters do not. Build your night around the first group and let the second happen.

Costume Rules

This is one of the few times Walt Disney World permits guests 14 and older to dress as characters. The rules still apply.

• Costumes must be family friendly and cannot be obstructive, offensive, or violent
• Guests 14 and over may not wear masks of any kind, including partial masks
• Layered costumes and props that surround the entire body are discouraged and may trigger additional screening
• No costumes that drag on the ground
• Guests may not pose for photos with other guests or sign autographs
• Costume props cannot resemble weapons and cannot exceed the standard size limits
• Cast members have final say at the entrance

The practical advice is about heat, not rules. Even in October, an evening in Central Florida is warm and humid. Lightweight and simple beats elaborate every time, and full-body costumes become a problem by 9:00 PM.

Food, Dining, and Paid Add-Ons

Snacks exclusive to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party are sold at quick service locations including Casey’s Corner, Sleepy Hollow, Storybook Treats, Aloha Isle, Main Street Bakery, and Pecos Bill. These are additional cost.

Two collectible popcorn buckets are exclusive to the party in 2026: the Hatbox Ghost bucket at $28 and the Headless Horseman bucket at $30. Both sell out on high demand nights.

Table service restaurants open during the party include Be Our Guest, Cinderella’s Royal Table, The Plaza Restaurant, and the Beak and Barrel. Advance Dining Reservations for party nights open 60 days ahead. Because only party ticket holders can book those slots, availability is better than on a normal night at the same restaurants.

The Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party is a separate paid add-on with reserved fireworks viewing at Tomorrowland Terrace. It books 60 days out and is only available to party ticket holders.

I have not personally done the Dessert Party at MNSSHP, but I have done the Dessert Party for Happily Ever After. The reality is that while the special fireworks viewing is a great perk – it’s not necessarily a great idea to load your kids up with 100 grams of sugar late in the evening.

Two Plans for the Night

Plan A, character priority. Enter at 4:00 PM and go straight to Town Square Theater for Jack Skellington and Sally. Eat dinner around 6:00. Hit Mickey and Minnie next. Ride E-Tickets during the 8:15 parade. Watch fireworks at 10:00. Trick-or-treat on the walk back through Fantasyland. Catch the 11:15 parade.

Plan B, ride priority. Enter at 4:00 PM and use Lightning Lane if you already have a park ticket for that day. Eat dinner at 5:30. At 7:00, ride the three overlay attractions while most guests are collecting candy. Ride E-Tickets through the 8:15 parade and the 10:00 fireworks. Watch Hocus Pocus at 10:35, then the 11:15 parade. Trick-or-treat in the last thirty minutes when cast members are handing out the largest portions.

Neither plan attempts everything. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs five hours, and trying to do the parade twice, all three shows, every rare character, all 13 treat stations, and the overlay rides in five hours is the fastest way to have a bad night. Who Should Skip This Event

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a poor fit for a few specific situations.

Families with young children on a tight park schedule should think carefully. A midnight end time on a trip where you are also doing rope drop the next morning does not work. If you buy a party night, treat the following morning as a sleep-in.

Travelers on a single park day budget get more raw attraction time from a standard ticket plus Early Park Entry than from a party ticket, if rides are the only goal. The party’s value is in the entertainment and atmosphere, not throughput.

Anyone whose park plan depends on Lightning Lane should reconsider. The party removes the tool you built your touring around, and a group used to booking its way past standby will feel that change immediately.

Common Mistakes

Arriving at 7:00 PM. You paid for a 4:00 PM entry. Use it.

Treating trick-or-treating as the priority. Candy stations have no lines and hand out more later. They are the lowest-value use of a scheduled hour.

Watching the 8:15 parade. It is the crowded showing. The 11:15 is the same parade.

Assuming Lightning Lane works. It does not, at any price, after party hours begin.

Wearing a heavy costume. Florida in August or October does not care that it is Halloween.

Not checking the app the day of. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party showtimes shift, especially late in the season, and weather cancels the Headless Horseman.
