Why This Site Exists

I built Magical Blueprint in June 2026 because Disney World planning had turned into a research project.

Four theme parks. Dozens of resorts. Hundreds of restaurants. A ticket structure that changes annually, a Lightning Lane system that changed names twice, and a transportation network with rules nobody writes down clearly.

Most people planning a Disney World trip are not doing it every few months. They are doing it once, with a fixed budget, and they want to get it right the first time.

That is the reader I write for. Every decision on this site follows from that.

The question Magical Blueprint tries to answer is narrow: what will make your trip better, and what is not worth your money?

Who I Am

I am John Jensen. I run Magical Blueprint, and I am the only person writing here.

Some of my earliest memories are of Walt Disney World. I have been traveling to Walt Disney World on a regular basis for three decades. I was just a kid the first time I walked through those gates, and something about it stuck, not just the rides or the characters, but the feeling of it. The way the whole place is designed to make you forget everything else and just be present. I’ve been chasing that feeling ever since, and I’ve been lucky enough to experience it many times over the years.

That has turned into a treasure trove of experience in planning and executing successful Walt Diseny World vacations.

I want to be direct about what that background does and does not mean. Visiting Disney World frequently does not make anyone an authority. Plenty of people have been dozens of times and still give bad advice.

What I try to bring instead is a method. I test strategies, track what actually happened, and publish the result even when the result is that my plan fell apart.

Who This Site Is For

Magical Blueprint is written for people paying full price for a trip they are taking once, not several times a year. Annual Passholders will find enjoyable content about Walt Disney World, but my content is certainly geared towards regular people with less Disney experience who want to have a magical vacation.

That changes the advice considerably.

When a Lightning Lane purchase costs a family of four the price of a nice dinner, the question is not whether it saves time. The question is whether that specific day, at that specific park, produces enough time savings to justify the cost.

When a Deluxe resort costs three times a Value resort, the question is not whether it is nicer. It obviously is. The question is what you give up elsewhere in the budget to pay for it.

That framing shows up in almost everything published here.

I would rather show you the work than describe my philosophy, so here is what exists on this site.

If a recommendation on this site is positive, it is because I concluded it was worth the money, not because a positive verdict converts better.

How I Make Money

Magical Blueprint is free to read and pays for itself three ways.

Display advertising. Ads run on the site. Advertisers have no influence over what I write and no advance look at content.

Amazon Associates. Some links to products earn a commission at no additional cost to you. I only link products I would recommend without the commission. None of my content is written for the sole purpose of pushing products. If it behooves the post for me to include the actual item I’m talking about, I’ll include it.

Digital planning products. Paid worksheets and planning tools, sold directly.

What Magical Blueprint does not do: sponsored posts, paid placements, comped stays or meals presented as reviews, or affiliate relationships with Disney travel agencies that would give me a financial stake in your booking decision.

Making money from a site does not make its recommendations untrustworthy. Hiding how the money works does. Full details are in the disclosures and privacy policy.

What You Can Expect

Magical Blueprint is a small independent site competing against Disney publications with staffs and archives I do not have. I am not going to pretend otherwise.

What I can offer is a clear position on every question, a stated reason behind it, and a correction when I get it wrong.

Three commitments govern everything published here, and each has its own page:
